BEHIND THE CLASSROOM DOOR

Honest, thoughtful books exploring the realities shaping modern primary education —
for teachers, parents and anyone who cares about children.

About

I’m a primary school educator who has spent years working inside classrooms, staff rooms and playgrounds across modern education.

During that time I’ve seen the extraordinary dedication of teachers, the hopes parents carry for their children, and the quiet pressures shaping schools behind the scenes.

I began writing to open an honest conversation about what is really happening in primary education today — the good, the difficult, and the things we rarely say out loud.

My books explore the different perspectives within school life. Behind the Classroom Door supports parents by looking at the realities shaping modern primary schools and the systems influencing children’s experiences (and how parents can support them!). I Don’t Want to Go to School Either! reflects on the pressures teachers face within those same systems. Good Morning, Miss - I Wrote You a Letter takes a different approach, using the voice of a child to express the confusion and sadness some children feel when school becomes overwhelming.

None of these books are written to blame teachers or parents. They are written to encourage understanding — because when the adults around children understand each other better, schools become better places for the children within them.
